How members use SakeOf in real life

Local facts are one part of the decision. These stories show what it looks like after joining.

Start with the care you need

SakeOf is a healthcare membership and a different way to pay for and navigate care. The practical starting point is the need in front of you: a new, common symptom; an ongoing primary-care question; a prescription; or an in-person appointment. Choose the lowest-friction appropriate route, then use SakeOf support when a bill or care plan needs more attention.

For common non-emergency symptoms that are appropriate for a virtual visit, Zero Copay Telemedicine offers access through the current service partner. Provider availability, technology, clinical appropriateness, state law, and prescribing rules apply. If symptoms may require emergency attention, seek emergency care rather than using a routine virtual-care path.

Before a planned, higher-cost service, contact SakeOf in advance when reasonably possible. That gives you an opportunity to ask about the process and identify fair-price options; it does not guarantee a particular provider, price, or outcome.

Build an everyday-care routine

Telemedicine can be a convenient first step for an appropriate common illness or symptom. A clinician may prescribe medication when clinically appropriate and legally permitted. Prescription costs follow the active Rx program, so check whether a medication is on its current formulary and whether program requirements are met.

The optional Rx and Prescription Benefits feature currently offers access to a formulary of commonly prescribed acute medications at $0 when program requirements are met. The current service partner lists more than 67,000 participating pharmacy locations nationwide. Those details apply only when the feature is selected and active; a prescription outside the formulary, or one that does not meet program requirements, may have a separate cost.

Members may also select Mental Health and Counseling. Virtual Primary Care is an optional bundled service that provides $0 virtual primary-care access, a dedicated physician relationship, ongoing virtual follow-up support, and an annual virtual wellness visit with a health-risk assessment. Chronic-care follow-up and medication-management support may be available when appropriate for virtual care. The current Virtual Primary Care tier requires Rx and Prescription Benefits, Zero Copay Telemedicine, and Mental Health and Counseling to remain active.

A virtual visit does not by itself include labs, imaging, specialty care, procedures, emergency care, or in-person follow-up. If a clinician recommends one of those services, plan for that next step separately and ask SakeOf how the related bill may be handled.

Use Beachwood care when you need to be seen

Members may generally use any appropriately licensed provider. For planned care, SakeOf can help identify fair-price options, while provider search can help you explore choices. Confirm appointment availability, the specific service offered, expected charges, and any applicable participation details directly with the facility before booking.

A facility’s presence in Beachwood does not establish appointment access, participation in a particular plan, or your final cost. For planned labs, imaging, specialist visits, or other services, request a service-specific estimate and ask whether separate clinician or facility charges may apply.

Get help when a bill is hard to understand

When a bill seems confusing or high, SakeOf’s Full Service advocacy can help members with bill verification, fair-price review, and negotiation support. Keep the itemized bill and any related records together. An itemized bill is required for submissions and should show service dates, provider information, and CPT or HCPCS codes when available.

SakeOf may request clinical notes, medical records, diagnosis or procedure details, billing records, provider documentation, or a signed release to review eligibility, medical necessity, and fair pricing. Submit complete documents within six months of the service date. Submit a balance bill, denial, or payment demand within 10 days of receiving it. Members are responsible for keeping membership active, meeting applicable member commitments, and funding required asks.

Plan for a larger eligible medical event

For a larger eligible event, the process can include an applicable member commitment, documentation review, fair-price work, and voluntary community funding, subject to the Program Guide and the event’s eligibility. Contact SakeOf in advance for planned higher-cost care when reasonably possible, and keep records of estimates, bills, and communications. No particular event, price, or funding outcome is guaranteed.

For maternity, potentially eligible expenses include prenatal visits, medically necessary prenatal labs, standard diagnostic ultrasounds, pregnancy-related specialist care, delivery charges, and routine pregnancy-related postpartum care through six weeks. The pregnancy must begin after the continuous 12-month maternity waiting period is complete. Adding or restoring maternity after conception does not make that pregnancy eligible. Program limits and other rules apply.

Choose useful next steps for your household

Selected options can address needs beyond routine visits. Dental and vision discounts provide access to participating-provider discount pricing; the stated typical discount range is approximately 10% to 50%, depending on provider and service. Chiropractic or acupuncture, physical or occupational therapy, and durable medical equipment may also be options to explore through membership materials. Confirm whether an option is available, active, and applicable to the care you need.

  • Use the calculator to explore membership options and estimated costs.
  • Read the Savings Guide to understand the SakeOf approach and plan your questions.
  • Search for a provider or contact Jordan to discuss a care situation and possible next steps.
  • Before a planned service, confirm availability and request an estimate directly from the provider.
  • For Cuyahoga County Medicaid application routes or information on finding free or low-cost clinics, consult County Health and Human Services; the county advises calling 211 for clinic referrals. Confirm services, eligibility, and fees with the clinic. [[cite:]]
