How members use SakeOf in real life

Local facts are one part of the decision. These stories show what it looks like after joining.

Start with the care you need

SakeOf is a healthcare membership designed to make it easier to navigate everyday care, choose providers, and get support with eligible medical expenses. You can begin with the kind of help you need now—a common illness, a prescription, ongoing primary care, counseling, or an in-person visit—then review which membership features are active and relevant.

The calculator and Savings Guide can help you compare options. Provider search can help you explore care, and Jordan can help you understand membership features and what information to prepare. Provider services, payment arrangements, and availability are separate questions to confirm directly with the provider.

Use everyday care options when they fit

Zero Copay Telemedicine is designed for common, non-emergency illnesses and symptoms appropriate for a virtual visit. Provider availability, technology, state law, clinical judgment, and prescribing rules affect whether a virtual visit is suitable. A clinician may recommend in-person follow-up, labs, imaging, procedures, or specialty care; arrange those services separately with an appropriate provider.

If Rx and Prescription Benefits are active, check the current formulary and pharmacy tool for the specific medication before filling it. A listed medication may be available for $0 when the participating-pharmacy process and prescribing and dispensing requirements are met. A medication outside the formulary is not automatically $0 or eligible for community sharing. Formulary and pharmacy details can change.

Mental Health and Counseling may include an initial problem assessment, supportive counseling, follow-up with the original counselor when available, crisis support, and referrals to other appropriate resources. Psychiatry, inpatient behavioral health, emergency psychiatric care, and medication costs are not included just because counseling is active; check whether another active program applies.

Virtual Primary Care is an optional feature with a $15 monthly adjustment. It provides virtual primary-care access, an ongoing physician relationship and follow-up, an annual virtual wellness visit with health-risk assessment, and chronic-care follow-up or medication-management support when appropriate for virtual care. The current bundled tier requires Rx and Prescription Benefits, Zero Copay Telemedicine, and Mental Health and Counseling to remain active. Separately recommended labs, imaging, and in-person services are arranged separately.

Choose local in-person care around Huntington

When you need an examination, testing, a specialist, or hospital services, you can choose a local provider. Marshall Family Medicine lists primary-care and walk-in services at Marshall University Medical Center, 1600 Medical Center Drive in Huntington. Marshall Health also lists Huntington-area walk-in and urgent-care options. Call the location to confirm current services, hours, and availability before visiting.

CHH Family Urgent Care is listed at 2 Stonecrest Drive in Huntington, with daily hours posted as 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; confirm current details directly before going. Cabell Huntington Hospital is at 1340 Hal Greer Boulevard, and St. Mary’s Medical Center is at 2900 First Avenue. Both publish standard-charge information and patient-estimate tools. Ask what an estimate includes, since separate clinician or ancillary charges may apply and the estimate may differ from the final amount owed.

For county public-health services, the Cabell-Huntington Health Department lists clinical services including immunizations and testing. Many clinic services require appointments. Contact the department at 703 7th Avenue to confirm services and scheduling. These are Huntington and Cabell County resources; confirm access, payment arrangements, and current details with each location.

Get support with bills and eligible larger needs

If a bill is confusing or seems inconsistent with the care received, SakeOf Full Service may help with bill review, fair-price review, and negotiation support under the applicable program rules. Keep the itemized bill and supporting paperwork. An itemized bill should include service dates, provider information, and CPT or HCPCS codes when available. SakeOf may also request medical records, clinical notes, diagnosis or procedure details, billing records, or a signed release to review eligibility, medical necessity, and fair pricing.

Submit complete documents within six months of the service date. Submit a balance bill, denial, or payment demand within 10 days of receiving it. Ask Jordan what documents and steps apply to your situation, and use the Savings Guide to prepare. A facility estimate can help you ask questions, but it is not necessarily the final patient responsibility.

For a larger medical event, review the applicable member commitment and program rules before making plans. Full Service can offer bill verification, fair-price review, and negotiation support. Voluntary community funding may be available for larger eligible events, subject to eligibility and program review; it is not promised. For a planned procedure or hospital service, request an estimate and ask whether professional, laboratory, imaging, or other charges may be separate.

Review other features that may fit your household

Depending on your needs, membership options may include maternity, dental and vision discounts, chiropractic or acupuncture, physical or occupational therapy, and durable medical equipment. Each feature applies only when selected and active and follows its own rules. Eligible PT/OT services must be medically necessary and provided by an appropriately licensed therapist; a physician order, referral, or plan of care may be required. The 12-visit limit and $780 annual maximum are shared across the enrolled membership.

The maternity feature requires pregnancy to begin after a continuous 12-month waiting period is complete. Adding or restoring the feature after conception does not make that pregnancy eligible. The newborn should be added to the membership within 30 days of birth. Review the membership details and applicable limit before relying on this feature for planning.

Choose a practical next step

  • Common illness or symptom: Check whether active telemedicine is appropriate for the concern; use emergency services for emergencies.
  • Ongoing care: Compare Virtual Primary Care requirements with local options, and confirm local appointment availability directly.

Talk to a Guide

Healthcare questions for Huntington

Short answers built from the same verified local research and SakeOf benefit rules used in this guide.

Is a virtual visit right for every health concern?

No. Telemedicine is designed for common, non-emergency illnesses and symptoms appropriate for virtual care. Provider availability and clinical judgment matter. Separately recommended labs, imaging, procedures, specialist care, and in-person follow-up must be arranged separately.

Are prescriptions automatically included with telemedicine?

No. A prescription may be issued when clinically appropriate and legally permitted, but its cost follows the active Rx program. Check the current formulary and participating-pharmacy requirements for the specific medication.

Can I choose a local clinic if I have SakeOf?

Yes. You can choose a local provider for in-person care. Contact the facility to confirm services, appointments, availability, and payment arrangements, and check the SakeOf program rules that apply to the service.

Does Mental Health and Counseling include psychiatry or medication?

Counseling may include assessment, supportive sessions, follow-up when available, crisis support, and referrals. Psychiatry and medication costs are not included simply because counseling is active; check whether another active program applies.

What clinical services are available through Cabell County public health?

The Cabell-Huntington Health Department lists clinical services including immunizations and testing. Many clinic services require appointments, so contact the department to confirm current services and scheduling.

Where can I review West Virginia Medicaid or WVCHIP resources?

WV PATH supports screening for and applying to programs including Medicaid and WVCHIP. The West Virginia Bureau for Medical Services also provides Medicaid member resources, including information about managed care, transportation, and renewals.

How can I prepare for a larger eligible medical event?

Review the applicable member commitment and program rules, request a provider estimate, and ask whether professional or ancillary charges may be separate. Full Service support and voluntary community funding are subject to eligibility and program review; funding is not guaranteed.
