Compare the costSakeOf is a healthcare membership that offers a more hands-on alternative to an insurance-first way of paying for and navigating care. Members can use selected direct services, choose where to seek in-person care, and ask for help understanding medical bills and fair pricing. The practical first step is to match the need to the right route: a common illness, ongoing primary care, a prescription question, an in-person service, or a bill that needs attention.
Your available services depend on the options you select, keep active, and qualify to use under program rules. The calculator and Savings Guide can help you explore membership options; the provider search can help you plan for care outside the virtual services.
For a common, non-emergency illness or symptom that is appropriate for virtual care, active Zero Copay Telemedicine offers eligible urgent-care consultations by phone or video with clinicians licensed for your location, subject to provider availability and clinical judgment. The service is available around the clock where licensing and service-partner availability permit. A clinician may recommend an in-person visit, testing, imaging, or other care; those services are not included just because a telemedicine consultation is available.
Rx and Prescription Benefits can help with prescription needs when selected and active. A prescription may be issued through telemedicine when clinically appropriate and legally permitted, but the prescription cost follows the active Rx program. Check the program details for how a particular medicine is handled, especially if it is not included in the applicable prescription arrangement.
If you want an ongoing virtual care relationship, Virtual Primary Care offers access to a dedicated physician relationship, follow-up support, an annual virtual wellness visit, and chronic-care or medication-management support when appropriate for virtual care. This option has prerequisites: Rx and Prescription Benefits, Zero Copay Telemedicine, and Mental Health and Counseling must remain active for the current bundled service tier.
Active Mental Health and Counseling provides unlimited on-demand telephone counseling access for members and eligible enrolled dependents, with up to three face-to-face consultations per incident when arranged and available. Counseling is a specific service; it does not by itself include psychiatry, inpatient behavioral health, or medication costs.
For an in-person primary-care starting point, Stanaford Medical Clinic lists primary care and internal medicine at its Beckley office. Confirm current hours, appointment availability, services, and payment arrangements directly with the clinic before a scheduled visit.
Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley lists emergency, imaging, surgery, and other hospital services, and its emergency department is listed as open 24 hours. For scheduled hospital care, ask the hospital about its cost estimator or Good Faith Estimate process, and confirm which services and clinicians an estimate includes. Physician and ancillary charges may be billed separately, and an estimate may not be the final bill.
You retain provider choice for care that takes place in person. Labs, imaging, specialist visits, procedures, and follow-up care can involve separate charges. Before scheduled services, ask the provider what is being ordered, which charges may be separate, and what payment arrangements are available. For an emergency, use emergency services; do not delay emergency care to follow a routine membership process.
When a medical bill is confusing or seems out of line, SakeOf’s Full Service advocacy can help with bill verification, fair-price review, and negotiation support. This can be useful after a clinic, hospital, imaging, or other provider visit when you need to understand a charge or have questions about the amount billed. Advocacy is support with the bill and pricing process; it does not guarantee a particular price or outcome.
For a submission, keep the itemized bill, including service dates, provider information, and CPT or HCPCS codes when available. SakeOf may request clinical notes, records, diagnosis or procedure details, billing documents, or a signed release to review eligibility, medical necessity, and fair pricing. Submit complete documents within six months of the service date. Balance bills, denials, or payment demands should be submitted within 10 days of receipt.
For larger eligible medical events, SakeOf combines review and advocacy with voluntary member-to-member community funding under the program’s rules. The applicable member commitment and any event-specific requirements are set by the program; review the Program Guide for the terms that apply before relying on a particular benefit. Funding is voluntary, and eligibility and sharing are not guaranteed.
Conditions, symptoms, advice, or care from the 24 months before membership began may be considered during pre-existing-condition review, even without a formal diagnosis. Final decisions depend on documentation, clinical review, and the Program Guide. If you expect a significant service or treatment, ask Jordan or review the Guide about the relevant feature, effective date, documentation, and member commitment before proceeding when circumstances allow.
Depending on your household’s needs, you can also explore maternity, dental and vision discounts, chiropractic or acupuncture, physical or occupational therapy, and durable medical equipment options. Each applies only when selected, active, eligible, and otherwise subject to its program rules. For maternity, the feature has a continuous 12-month waiting period, and pregnancy must begin after that period is completed; review the Guide for event limits and requirements.
