Make the comparison about your situation

The local facts stay the same. These are the pressure points and questions that matter more for this decision.

Pressure points to model

  • Paying the full healthcare bill yourself
  • No employer contribution
  • Family healthcare costs
  • Unclear alternatives to traditional insurance

Questions worth answering

  • What should I compare if I pay for healthcare myself?
  • How should a self-employed family compare monthly cost with major medical risk?
  • What changes when I leave employer coverage?
  • How could SakeOf fit alongside the other options I am comparing?

How SakeOf helps

  • Compare the membership structure with the other ways you could pay for healthcare
  • Use the calculator with your actual household
  • Ask Jordan to explain SakeOf guidelines and features using approved program knowledge

Start with the numbers you control

  • What are you paying each month now?
  • How many people need healthcare?
  • What would a major medical event need to look like financially for you to feel protected?

Use your actual household and compare total exposure, not just the monthly amount.

How members use SakeOf in real life

Local facts are one part of the decision. These stories show what it looks like after joining.

Start with the care you need

With SakeOf, you can begin with the kind of care you need rather than making every decision through an insurance-first process. The membership combines everyday-care services, member choice of providers, and support understanding medical bills. Which services apply depends on the options you select, keep active, and meet program rules for.

For a common, non-emergency illness or symptom, Zero Copay Telemedicine may offer a low-friction first step when that feature is active. The current service partner does not impose a program limit on consultation frequency or duration, although availability, clinical appropriateness, technology, state law, and prescribing rules still apply. If a clinician recommends an in-person visit, lab, imaging, or specialist, those are separate care needs to arrange and consider on their own terms.

Build an everyday-care routine that suits you

Rx and Prescription Benefits may be selected as an optional feature. Listed formulary medications can be available at $0 when the participating-pharmacy process and prescribing and dispensing requirements are met. Check the current pharmacy tool before filling a prescription: the formulary and participating pharmacies can change, and a non-formulary medication may have a negotiated or discount price rather than a $0 price.

Mental Health and Counseling is another optional feature. Counseling support does not automatically include psychiatry, inpatient or emergency behavioral health, neuropsychological testing, residential substance-use treatment, or medication costs. If you want an ongoing primary-care relationship, Virtual Primary Care is available as a direct service with virtual follow-up, an annual virtual wellness visit, and chronic-care follow-up when clinically appropriate. The current bundled tier requires Rx and Prescription Benefits, Zero Copay Telemedicine, and Mental Health and Counseling to remain active.

Use these options for the kinds of needs they are designed to address. Telemedicine is for common non-emergency concerns; it does not turn a recommended lab, imaging study, specialist visit, procedure, or in-person follow-up into a telemedicine service. For emergencies, call 911. Sharon Township identifies its fire department as an emergency medical services provider; that does not mean a hospital or clinic is located in Sharon Center.

Choose local in-person care when you need it

For care that needs an in-person clinician or laboratory, UH Sharon Health Center in Wadsworth lists primary and specialty care and laboratory services. It lists appointment access by phone at 866-844-2273. Confirm current services, appointment availability, provider participation, and expected charges directly with the center before scheduling. Its location is in Wadsworth, not Sharon Center.

The Medina County Health Center lists medical and dental services and says it serves patients with or without insurance. Call 330-723-9688, option 1, to ask about current services, appointments, fees, and payment details. County public-health programs and community health reports can also be useful for understanding local resources and county-level needs; those reports do not establish a particular person’s appointment access or price.

For hospital care, Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital is at 1000 E. Washington St. in Medina and provides emergency and other hospital services. Confirm current services and request an estimate for scheduled care, then ask the facility and any applicable payment source to clarify your expected responsibility. In an emergency, call 911 rather than waiting for a routine appointment or telemedicine visit.

Get help making sense of a bill

When a bill is difficult to understand, SakeOf Full Service can help with advocacy, bill verification, fair-price review, and negotiation support. Keep the itemized bill and any related provider or payment documents. An itemized bill is required for submissions and should include service dates, provider information, and CPT or HCPCS codes when available. SakeOf may request medical records, clinical notes, or other documentation for review.

Submit complete documents within six months of the service date. If you receive a balance bill, denial, or payment demand, submit it within 10 days of receiving it. Keep your membership current, meet the applicable member commitment, and respond promptly to requests. These steps give the review team information needed to assess the bill; they do not guarantee a particular outcome.

Plan for a larger eligible medical event

For a larger eligible event, the process can include bill review and fair-price support, your applicable member commitment, and voluntary community funding. Contact SakeOf in advance for planned higher-cost care when reasonably possible. Keep your membership active, maintain a valid payment method, and submit requested documentation promptly so the event can be reviewed under the program rules.

If you are planning maternity care, the optional Maternity Care feature has a 12-month continuous waiting period before pregnancy must begin. Adding or restoring the feature after conception does not make that pregnancy eligible. A newborn’s medical needs after initial discharge are separate from the mother’s maternity event, and the newborn should be added to membership within 30 days of birth. Ask SakeOf about the current rules before making plans.

Choose useful extras and take your next step

Other optional features include dental and vision discounts, chiropractic and acupuncture, physical and occupational therapy, and durable medical equipment. They apply only when selected and active, and remain subject to program rules. For durable medical equipment expected to cost more than $300, advance review is required when reasonably possible; the annual community-sharing maximum is $1,000 across the enrolled membership.

To get started, use the calculator to explore membership options and the Savings Guide to understand how the model works. Use provider search to look for care, then confirm current participation and charges directly with the provider. If you want help choosing a path, ask Jordan or review the available membership options. For local appointments, call the facility before traveling or scheduling.
