How members use SakeOf in real life

Local facts are one part of the decision. These stories show what it looks like after joining.

Start with the care you need—not a maze of steps

SakeOf is a healthcare membership designed to make everyday care and medical bills easier to approach. Members can build a care path around direct-service options, their choice of provider, and support with eligible medical bills. The membership offers a different starting point from an insurance-first experience: first identify the care you need, then choose an appropriate available service or provider.

For a quick question or a new symptom, check whether an active telemedicine option fits. For an ongoing relationship, selected Virtual Primary Care includes a dedicated physician relationship, an annual virtual wellness visit, and follow-up support when clinically appropriate. When you need an in-person exam, lab, imaging, specialist, or hospital service, use provider search and contact the provider to confirm services, appointment access, and expected charges.

Use everyday care options when they fit

Zero Copay Telemedicine, when selected and active, provides telemedicine access with a $0 member cost for the included service. It can be a straightforward first step for a concern that is appropriate for remote care. A clinician may determine that an in-person visit, test, or follow-up is needed; those services may have separate costs.

Rx and Prescription Benefits, when selected and active, are part of the everyday-care options. Check the program details and confirm a medication’s availability and price through the applicable service before relying on it. Medication costs, including medications that are not included under the applicable program terms, can remain separate.

Mental Health and Counseling, when selected and active with its required features, includes unlimited on-demand telephonic counseling at $0 through the current service partner, with 24/7 access to master's-level counseling professionals. Up to three face-to-face counseling consultations per incident may be arranged when available. Counseling can also help connect a member with further resources when more care is needed.

Virtual Primary Care is an optional feature that adds $15 per month and requires Rx and Prescription Benefits, Zero Copay Telemedicine, and Mental Health and Counseling to remain active for the current bundled service tier. It includes $0 virtual primary-care access and ongoing support for chronic care and medication management when clinically appropriate for virtual care. Each feature is subject to its program rules and must be selected and active.

Find in-person care around Cincinnati

When a remote visit is not the right fit, you can choose an in-person provider and confirm details directly. Cincinnati Health Department’s City of Cincinnati Primary Care operates community health centers offering medical care; the city lists 513-357-7320 for appointment information. Ask which center offers the service you need and whether appointments are available. The department also lists dental services and contacts.

For certain public-health needs, Hamilton County Public Health lists STI/HIV testing and treatment, tuberculosis services, and support for eligible families through the Children with Medical Handicaps program. Its clinic is at 5050 Section Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45212; call 513-946-7610 to confirm current services and arrangements. This is a county resource, not a guarantee of access or eligibility for a particular person.

UC Health and TriHealth list hospital and other care locations in Cincinnati. A listing is a useful starting point, not confirmation of an appointment, provider participation, or your final cost. Before scheduled care, ask the provider for an estimate and confirm any relevant participation or payment details. Labs, imaging, in-person follow-up, specialist visits, and medications may have separate costs from a virtual service.

Ask for help when a bill is confusing

When a bill seems unclear or unusually high, SakeOf’s Full Service advocacy can help with bill verification, fair-price review, and negotiation support. The goal is to help you understand the charge and work through the applicable process—not to promise a particular price or outcome. Keep the itemized bill and respond promptly if additional documentation is requested.

For submissions, an itemized bill is required and should include service dates, provider information, and CPT or HCPCS codes when available. SakeOf may request clinical notes, medical records, billing records, or other documentation. Complete documents should be submitted within six months of the service date; submit a balance bill, denial, or payment demand within 10 days of receiving it. Contact SakeOf in advance for planned higher-cost care when reasonably possible.

Understand support for larger eligible events

For a larger eligible medical event, SakeOf combines review and advocacy with the applicable member commitment and voluntary community funding, subject to program rules and an eligibility review. Keep your membership active, meet applicable responsibilities, and provide requested records so the event can be assessed. Eligibility and any support depend on the program terms and documentation; neither funding nor a particular result is guaranteed.

If you are planning care, contact SakeOf ahead of time when reasonably possible. That gives you a chance to ask what documentation may be needed and how to approach the provider, estimate, and bill. For urgent or emergency situations, seek appropriate emergency care rather than waiting on a routine membership process.

Choose optional features for the care you expect to use

Households can consider additional options based on their needs. Maternity Care adds $18 per month. Chiropractic and Acupuncture adds $14, Physical and Occupational Therapy adds $11, and Durable Medical Equipment adds $7 per month. Each option applies only when selected, active, eligible, and otherwise subject to program rules.

Dental and Vision Discounts adds $9 per month. Members pay participating providers directly at the applicable discounted rate; discounts vary and are not guaranteed at every provider. Before choosing a feature, review its current terms and consider which services you expect to use. Turning a feature off means services or benefits tied to it are no longer included while it is inactive.
