How members use SakeOf in real life

Local facts are one part of the decision. These stories show what it looks like after joining.

Make care easier to organize

SakeOf is a healthcare membership that brings selected direct services, provider choice, bill review, and support navigating eligible larger medical expenses together. You can start with the need in front of you—a routine question, ongoing primary care, a prescription, or an in-person visit—and check which membership options fit your plans. Services tied to an option are available only when you select and keep that option active.

Use the calculator and Savings Guide to compare options, provider search to explore care, and Jordan to work through membership questions. For planned higher-cost care, contact SakeOf in advance when reasonably possible. That gives you a chance to understand the bill-review process before care takes place.

Choose an everyday-care route

Zero Copay Telemedicine can provide a convenient way to address appropriate everyday health questions when it is selected and active. It is not the right path for every concern; use emergency care for an emergency.

If you want an ongoing virtual primary-care relationship, the Virtual Primary Care option includes access through its current service partner, a dedicated physician relationship, an annual virtual wellness visit with health-risk assessment and stratification, and chronic-care follow-up and medication-management support when clinically appropriate for virtual care. Its required companion options—Rx and Prescription Benefits, Zero Copay Telemedicine, and Mental Health and Counseling—must remain active for the current bundled service tier.

Mental Health and Counseling is an optional part of the membership. Psychiatry, inpatient or emergency psychiatric care, neuropsychological testing, residential substance-use treatment, and medication costs are not included merely because the counseling feature is active; another active benefit or program must expressly include them.

Check prescriptions and other selected options

When Rx and Prescription Benefits is selected and active, members can access a current formulary of commonly prescribed acute medications at $0 when program requirements are met. Check the current formulary and requirements for the medication you need. A medication outside the formulary or a separate pharmacy expense may still have a cost.

Depending on the available options you select, you may also explore dental and vision discounts, chiropractic or acupuncture, PT or OT, and durable medical equipment. Check the Savings Guide or ask Jordan which options apply before scheduling a service or making a purchase.

Find in-person care around Auburn

Auburn University Medical Clinic, at 400 Lem Morrison Drive in Auburn, lists primary, preventive, and urgent care as well as laboratory and X-ray services. The university bulletin describes fee-for-service care with on-site billing. The clinic serves university-affiliated patients and members of the surrounding community, but access arrangements may vary. Call 334-844-4416 to confirm whether the service you need is available to you, how to arrange an appointment, and what charges to expect.

A separate university resource is the Health Care and Education Clinic and Pharmacy at Boykin Community Center, 400 Boykin Street, Suite 700, Auburn. The university describes screenings, chronic-disease management, psychosocial assessments, wellness programs, and immunizations. Confirm current hours, eligibility, available services, and charges directly with the clinic before visiting.

Auburn University also lists a Speech and Hearing Clinic for speech, hearing, and language services; contact it to confirm access and fees. At the county level, the Lee County Health Department is located at 1801 Corporate Drive in Opelika, and its listed contact number is 334-745-5765. Check with the department about current services and eligibility. These are distinct local and county resources, so confirm which location fits your needs rather than assuming a service is available at every site.

East Alabama Health lists hospital services in Opelika and a freestanding emergency department at Auburn Medical Pavilion in Auburn. Its emergency department is listed as open 24 hours. Seek emergency care promptly when needed. For planned care, ask the facility what an estimate includes and which services or related fees may be billed separately.

Get help understanding a medical bill

With Full Service, SakeOf reviews eligible medical expenses for documentation, medical necessity, and fair pricing, and may negotiate or reprice bills. Keep your itemized bill; submissions require one, and it should include service dates, provider information, and CPT or HCPCS codes when available. SakeOf may also request medical records, clinical notes, diagnosis or procedure details, provider documentation, billing records, or a signed release.

Submit complete documents within six months of the service date. Send balance bills, denials, or payment demands within 10 days of receiving them, and respond promptly to requests for additional information. For a planned hospital service, East Alabama Health provides patient pricing information and a way to request an estimate. Ask which services and related fees it includes. CMS explains how consumers can find hospital standard-charge and shoppable-service information; posted charges are a comparison starting point, not necessarily the final amount owed. www.cms.gov

Understand support for larger eligible needs

For eligible larger medical expenses, Full Service combines bill review and advocacy with the applicable member commitment and voluntary member-to-member community funding. Eligibility depends on program rules and review, and community funding is voluntary, not guaranteed. Keep membership active, meet applicable responsibilities, and contact SakeOf before planned higher-cost care when reasonably possible. A charge paid or discounted through an optional feature cannot be counted again as a separate sharing request unless SakeOf expressly approves an eligible remaining balance.

If pregnancy planning is relevant, look into the optional maternity feature before conception. It requires at least 12 months of continuous active membership and continuous maternity-feature selection before conception. When offered and selected with Full Service, it has a $5,000 member responsibility and community sharing up to $25,000 per eligible pregnancy, subject to program rules. The described period for pregnancy-related care runs through six weeks postpartum. Use the calculator or Savings Guide to explore options, then ask Jordan about the terms that apply to your membership.
