Estimate my householdSakeOf is a healthcare membership built around practical help with care and costs. Members can use available everyday-care services, choose providers when an in-person visit makes sense, and get support reviewing medical bills. The aim is a clearer path from “What kind of care do I need?” to “What should I ask before I pay?”
Think in steps: use an appropriate low-friction option for an everyday concern, arrange local care when an exam or test is needed, then use advocacy and bill review if the charges are hard to understand. Benefits depend on what is selected, active, eligible, and allowed by the current program rules.
For a routine concern, Zero Copay Telemedicine may be an available option when selected and active. Virtual Primary Care may also be an option under the applicable membership terms. These services can help you decide what next step to pursue, but a telemedicine interaction does not itself include separate labs, imaging, an in-person examination, or specialist services.
If you need support with stress or another behavioral-health concern, SakeOf counseling may include an initial assessment, supportive counseling, follow-up with the original counselor when available, and referrals to suitable community resources or behavioral-health plans when more care is needed. Check which services are active in your membership and how to access them.
For a prescription, check the current pharmacy tool before filling it. The optional Rx and Prescription Benefits program has a formulary of commonly prescribed acute medications; a listed medication may be available at $0 when program, prescribing, and dispensing requirements are met. A medication outside the formulary is not automatically $0 or eligible for community sharing, and chronic-maintenance and other medication categories depend on a separate active program.
When an exam, lab, imaging, specialist, or other in-person service is needed, choose the provider that fits the care you need and confirm availability, expected charges, and any participation requirements directly with the provider. If a telemedicine or primary-care interaction recommends a test or follow-up visit, ask which service is included and what may be billed separately.
Bridgeport’s Family Health & Wellness Clinic lists communicable-disease services. Contact the city clinic to confirm its current location, hours, services, and appointment procedures before visiting. portal.ct.gov The city clinic, a community health center, and a hospital have different roles; check the organization’s own service information when deciding where to start.
Southwest Community Health Center lists medical, dental, and behavioral-health services at Bridgeport locations. Confirm sites, appointment availability, and any fees directly. For emergency care, Bridgeport Hospital’s Emergency Department is at 267 Grant Street, Bridgeport; use emergency services for emergencies rather than a routine SakeOf process. portal.ct.gov
For planned hospital care, request a written estimate for the specific service and ask how billing or financial assistance works. Published hospital prices and a personalized estimate may not be the same as your eventual bill. Compare service-specific information rather than relying on a general price.
Full Service advocacy can help a member work through a medical bill using bill verification, fair-price review, and negotiation support. Keep the itemized bill and any related provider documents together. An itemized bill should include service dates, provider information, and CPT or HCPCS codes when available; additional records may be requested for review.
Submit complete documents within six months of the service date. Send a balance bill, denial, or payment demand within 10 days of receiving it. These timelines matter when you want a bill reviewed, so keep the dated notice and submit the requested material promptly.
Ask for a written estimate before planned services and save it with referrals, bills, and any explanations you receive. A price review or negotiation is support, not a promise that a provider will change a charge or that a particular amount will be paid.
For eligible larger medical expenses, Full Service combines advocacy and fair-price review with a member commitment and voluntary member-to-member community funding. The applicable commitment and program limits depend on the current membership terms and the type of event. Community funding is voluntary, and eligibility and the amount available are determined under program rules; do not treat it as guaranteed payment.
Before arranging planned care, review the current Program Guide and ask how the service will be assessed. Keep membership and any relevant feature active and current when required. A membership becoming current later does not retroactively activate a feature for an earlier event or service.
If pregnancy planning is relevant, the maternity feature is available through Full Service when offered and selected. It has a 12-month continuous waiting period before conception, a $5,000 member responsibility per eligible pregnancy, and community sharing of up to $25,000 per eligible pregnancy after that responsibility. Eligibility, timing, and included expenses are subject to the maternity rules, so review the handbook before making plans.
Other services or discounts—such as dental and vision, chiropractic or acupuncture, physical or occupational therapy, and durable medical equipment—should be checked in the current membership materials before you rely on them. Confirm whether an option is available, selected, active, and applicable to the service you need. For prescription details, use the current pharmacy tool; for care and bill questions, contact Jordan or SakeOf through the available member channels.
